*Hello Stefan and Kees
It was great to meet you on Wednesday morning. Below is an outline of our ministry and needs which you requested. Also attached is the photos of the ministry. If you need additional information, please advise.
My name is Pastor Juanito Genada. My wife Rose and I have been serving in Gonaives Haiti for the last fourteen years. We serve the people of Gonaives in several different ways. I am the Pastor of Grace Baptist Church. We teach 30+ deaf students here in Gonaives. They not only have school each day but also attend worship service at the church where they are ministered to in their need. We also have a feeding program in Raboto where we feed 120 children a hot meal each day when funds are available. We also assist in feeding 200+ children in the Jubilee Blanc area. We have a bible school where we are teaching bible students how to be followers of Christ. We have an orphanage which the flood displaced 27 children to PAP. In addition to the previous, we also have a bakery which employs 6 of the deaf students and several others who sell the bread. This provides jobs for people who otherwise would not have a job and a means for the ministry of the church. Our goal is to lead people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and utilize these ministries as a means to accomplish that goal.
Our current need is to rebuild the bakery, deaf school, and our home. We need to rebuild the bakery to restore Jobs and provision for the people here. We need to rebuild the deaf school to continue the education of the deaf in this city. We need to rebuild our home because we have not been able to live in it since the flood. We also have a need to build a home to house the orphans so they can return to Gonaives. We were here during the flood caused by hurricane Jean in 2004. We were able to rebuild and continue our ministry. During the floods of 2008, caused by subsequent hurricanes, our home, school for the deaf, and the bakery were all destroyed.
The cost to restore the bakery is $4,000.00 because it was totally destroyed. If the money was provided for this project, it could be completed in within 30 days after receipt of funds.
Respectfully submitted
Pastor Juanito Genada
